About Prague

Prague rivals Paris and Venice in stunning physical beauty, and since the opening of the borders in 1989, tourists from all over the world have traveled there to see the fabulous Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Prague Castle, as well as the simple historic residences and cobblestone streets.

Prague has become an international meeting place for students and provides a vast array of entertainment ranging from jazz and blues to opera and string quartets. Concerts are held daily throughout the city at affordable prices. The Czech republic also brews some of the finest beer in the world.

Traveling to Other Countries

The Czech Republic is located in the center of Central Europe, adjacent to Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. Class activities will be scheduled for Monday through Thursday of each week, so students wishing to travel to other countries or to other areas of the Czech Republic will have 3-day weekends to do so. Participants last year traveled to Germany (Berlin, Dresden, Munich), Poland (Krakow, Auschwitz), Austria (Vienna), Italy (Florence), Slovakia (Bratislava), and Hungary (Budapest). Fares on trains are quite reasonable.
