Greetings Everyone!
We hope that you all enjoyed your summer and
that your semester is off to a great start! The
Annual Meetings are less than a month away
and the outreach committee has been busy
preparing!!!
The outreach committee is happy and excited
to announce that we have ordered some exciting
new promotional materials which will be available
at the DWC Outreach table at the ASC Annual
Meetings. Be sure to stop by and check
them out! In addition, you will find
all sorts of valuable information to help the
novice and more experienced DWC members alike
navigate the conference and take full advantage
of all the DWC events, as well as help everyone
hone in on the sessions, workshops and panels
which take a special focus on gender and gender
related issues.
Please note that the list for volunteers to sit
at the outreach table has gone up on the listserve
a few times now, and we still have slots available. A
reminder that this year, the outreach
committee is entering anyone who volunteers
at the table into a drawing to win a $50 Amazon.com
gift certificate!!! Don't miss this chance
to get entered into the drawing!!! Email

open and sign up for your shift.
In addition, the outreach committee would
like to continue the tradition of raffling
off books authored by members of the DWC to
new members. We've been doing this for
a number of years and it has been a great
success. In order to do this, however,
we need those of you with recent publications
(last few years) to donate a copy of your
book(s)! You can do this by either bringing
them to ASC with you and dropping them off
at the Outreach table on Wednesday, or you
can mail them to Emily Lenning OR Angela Simon,
Department of Sociology, Western Michigan University,
1903 West Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008-5257. If
you choose to mail them, please keep in
mind that we'll be leaving in the early
morning of Oct. 31st so we will need them to arrive
before then so we can bring them along with
us.
